Joining The Mark Order

Why Join Mark Masonry in Spain?

All Brethren are eligible to join the Mark Degree,  once they become Master Masons in the Craft.

The Mark Degree is a fascinating degree and is rightly known as the 'Friendly Degree' and is an important Order for many reasons, next to the Craft and Royal Arch Masonry it is the largest of the Masonic Orders. There are 41 Provinces in England and Wales, as well as 25 Districts throughout the world; with over 1,600 Lodges under the jurisdiction of The Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of England and Wales and its District and lodges Overseas.

Dependant on the tradition of the individual Lodges, of which there are presently 22 in Spain, mostly are conducted in the English language although there are a number of Lodges where the ritual in the Spanish language is encouraged and undertaken.

How to Join Mark Masonry in Spain

If you decide to join Mark Masonry in the District of Spain, and we sincerely hope that you will, you should first contact the Secretary of a Mark Lodge near you, these can be found on the website, or alternatively contact the District Secretary who will advise and help in putting you in touch with a Lodge.

Once contact is made with a Lodge, you will also need to complete an application form which can be downloaded from this website. You will then be asked by the Lodge Secretary to produce your Craft Grand Lodge Certificate or a Clearance Certificate from the Craft Lodge in which you are a subscribing member to confirm eligibility.

If you are already a Mark Master Mason wishing to join a Mark Lodge in this District, again an application form will need to be completed, your Mark Grand Lodge Certificate and a clearance certificate from your Lodge will need to be produced and the details of the Lodges you have been a member given on the reverse of the application form.

You will then be proposed, seconded and balloted for in open Lodge in the same way as in the Craft. The ballot proving in your favour the Advancement ceremony can proceed and you will become a member of this ancient and honourable degree.

For more information, or if you have any questions, contact the District Secretary.
